Hackers made a post pretending to be Rogers customer service saying its services will be down until at least Monday.

“We have recently discovered a potential breach in our servers and will have to keep services down until Monday July 11 in order to make sure no other breaches happen,” Hackers posing as Rogers Customer Service stated on social media around 4:30 p.m.

On Friday, users reported they were unable to access the internet, make phone calls or access cable television from regions across the country.

Rogers confirmed the outages Friday morning in a tweet and said it understands how “important it is for customers to stay connected.”

However, no timeline has been released for when service will be restored.

“We are aware of issues currently affecting our networks and our teams are fully engaged to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” Rogers stated.

“Again we apologize for any inconvenience. “We are working very hard to restore all services back to normal.”
