Day 11 of Public Hearings, October 27, 2022 Public Inquiry for the Invocation of the Emergencies Act

Day 11 of the Emergencies Act Inquiry, disclosed text messages reveal that RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki considered calling in members of the military to wear RCMP uniforms and act as unarmed cops against Freedom Convoy protesters. “I was thinking we use CAF but in our uniforms as unarmed Auxiliaries or Spl. Csts. to supplement us in teams.”

Ontario Provincial Police Commissioner Thomas Carrique testified today that he was on the receiving end of Lucki’s message to have Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) soldiers brought in to hold protest areas after they had been cleared.

OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique confirms that intel gathered by the police liaison team from speaking to Freedom Convoy organizers suggested that protesters had peaceful motives.

Watch as a government lawyer asks if OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique wanted to send in the military to quash Freedom Convoy protesters in Windsor and Carrique completely denies the accusation.

Were tow trucks compelled by the gov’t to move the Freedom Convoy?

The Emergencies Act was “extremely helpful” in assuring towing companies that they would be compensated for any damage to their equipment, says OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique.

The OPP and other law enforcement agencies identified the Freedom Convoy and similar protests “posed a risk to national security,” says OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique.
