The government says the funding will be used by Aspire to “use the latest smart technology to create the ideal growing conditions for crickets at its facility in London, Ontario” and “allow the company to monitor and grow billions of crickets at a time, producing a nutrient-rich protein for premium health food and pet markets.”

The government said they choose the company to invest in because “Aspire’s goal to tackle global food scarcity led to its focus on edible insect production, which can provide high volumes of nutritious food with a low environmental footprint.”

“These concerns, together with ethical considerations regarding the welfare and eating of animals, could also boost demand for plant-based proteins and alternative protein sources (e.g. insects, cultured meat).”

The government believes this technology will allow the company to cut its production costs, which would increase its marketability and sales in the domestic and international markets.

The government says “alternative sources of protein such as insects provide an opportunity to more sustainable meet global demand for food by using less water, energy and space and emitting significantly less greenhouse gas emissions during the production stage.”

Some people believe that the Canadian Governments investment in the cricket factory is to align with the World Economic Forum’s climate change agenda “5 reasons why eating insects could reduce climate change” as found on the World Economic Forum website.

A supermarket facility in the Netherlands, which was funded by the Bill Gates foundation, and that sold “new age” foods, like his plant-protein meats and other odd “goodies,” has burned to the ground in the middle of the night.

The Counter Signal reported that a large facility in Almelo owned by Picnic, a Bill Gates-funded grocery delivery company that uses electric vehicles, has suddenly caught fire in the dead of night.

Last year, the company was given a whopping 600 million euros from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and many participating in the ongoing farmers’ protests in Holland have openly stated they believe Gates may be partly responsible for pushing additional climate laws.
