Tamara Lich was surrounded by supports waiting her release.  As Lich was walking out, CTV reporter Glen McGregor shoved and elbowed his way though the crowd until one supporter shoved him back.  A scrummage ensued, but was quickly broken up by police.

Tamara Lich could barely be heard by speaking to reporters due to all the screaming and yelling in the background. “I’m very happy to be free and out,” Lich said as she was mobbed by supporters while leaving the Ottawa courthouse Tuesday. She had been in custody since June 27, accused of breaching her bail conditions.

Lich was originally scheduled to appear for trial at the Ontario court today over allegations of having breached her bail terms set previously, after being denied bail in her last court appearance on July 8.

The bail review for Lich’s case was scheduled at the Ontario Superior Court at the earliest available date, according to defence lawyer Eric Granger, who appeared briefly via teleconference before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 14.

Her case in the Ontario Court of Justice is adjourned until after the bail review until at least July 25.

On June 27, after attending an award ceremony in Toronto, Lich was rearrested in her hometown of Medicine Hat, Alberta, under a Canada-wide warrant, and was transferred back to Ottawa to attend a bail hearing.

Tamara is purportedly being held in detention due to a breach of her bail conditions, stemming from a photo she took at award ceremony in Toronto with another key figure from the Freedom Convoy named Tom Marazzo.

She will remain in custody to await trial on allegations she breached bail terms set previously. Her next court date is scheduled for July 14.

Lich’s Defence lawyer Lawrence Greenspon said she is “understandably disappointed” and that she wishes to regain her freedom as soon as possible.

The hearing was held after the Crown alleged Lich had breached her bail conditions when she attended a June 16 to receive the 2022 George Jonas Freedom Award from the JCCF in Toronto, Canada, at which she interacted with fellow convoy organizer Tom Marrazo.

During Lich’s previous hearing on July 5, Crown prosecutor Moiz Karimjee argued that she had breached her bail conditions, presenting as evidence a photograph of Lich and Marazzo appearing together at the ceremony in Toronto where Lich was presented with the 2022 George Jonas Freedom Award. A video recording was also presented in court, which shows Lich approaching Marazzo and the two interacting.

At that hearing, Greenspon pointed out that a brief congratulatory exchange after winning an award wouldn’t lead to illegal activity and isn’t a breach of bail conditions. The court also heard testimony that lawyers who were present at the event approved the picture taken of Lich and Marazzo. Greenspon said Lich’s bail terms specified that there should be no communication with convoy organizers except in the presence of counsel.

However, on July 8, Justice of the Peace Paul Harris said he was siding with the Crown, saying that Lich chose to sit at a table with Marrazo and that it is “absolutely ridiculous” for her to believe she could justify interacting with Marazzo by having her lawyers in the room.

This rumour does appear to be true.  Andy Lee of the The Real Andy Lee Show has obtained a copy of the nomination and posted it on Twitter and confirmed that the rumours about Tamara Lich being in the process of being nominated for The Nobel Peace Prize are, in fact, true.  Tamara has been nominated for the prestigious prize by a man named Kim Tsoj.

The reason for her arrest is believed to be related to her bail conditions.  One of the Freedom Convoy lawyers Keith Wilson confirmed the news on Monday.

Tamara Lich was arrested Monday by local police in Medicine Hat, Alta. She could be held in Alberta for up to six days before being brought back to Ottawa.  Lich has no prior criminal record and has not been convicted of the charges she now faces.

When Lich returns to Ottawa, she is expected to face a new charge of breach of recognisance under the Criminal Code of Canada. Lich could remain in jail in Ottawa until a new bail hearing would be scheduled on the new charge.

One of those individuals, convoy spokesperson Tom Marazzo, was photographed beside Lich on June 16 in Toronto at an event run by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms.

According to the Privy Council Office, they need almost a year to process request and are deciding whether the records can be released until Feb. 13, 2023.

That is one week before the final report from the judicial inquiry probing whether the invocation of the Emergencies Act was warranted is required to be tabled in the House of Commons. Justice Paul S. Rouleau, an Ontario appeals court judge, is leading that inquiry.

This week, during the committee on the Emergencies Act, Conservative MP Larry Brock grilled Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland for relying on CBC’s fake news about foreign funding, but Freeland repeatedly refused to answer questions.

Instead of CBC issuing a clarification, CBC issued a story on Jun 15, 2022 confirming that they are standing by their fake news about Freedom Convoy funding.

During committee testimony both GoGundMe and GiveSendGo confirmed that the Freedom Convoy was mostly funded by Canadians, and that the amounts were mostly small donations from individuals that just wanted to support the cause.

CBC claims in their article:

The claim is that CBC News retracted its stories about foreign donations to the convoy protest movement made via GoFundMe and GiveSendGo.

This is false. We have never retracted these stories, and we stand by our reporting on foreign donations to both GoFundMe and GiveSendGo.

Following is a break down of the fake news:

In CBC’s story about GoFundMe they indicate that they convoy was:

In the sample of comments collected by CBC News, more than half of the 573 donations made by people reporting they were outside Canada — 322 — came from individuals who said they were located in the United States. Collectively, American donors contributed $21,101, or 63.2 per cent, of the money donated by people who said they were located outside of Canada.

GoFundMe’s testimony confirmed that is not true and that the Freedom Convoy funds were as following:

CBC Said: 63.2% were located outside of Canada, more than half were outside Canada.

GoFundMe: 88% originated in Canada and 86% were from Canada.

In CBC’s story about GiveSendGo using Hacked Data! they indicate that they convoy was:

The data, which includes the home countries of donors, reveals that 55.7 per cent of the 92,844 donations made public came from donors in the United States, while just 39 per cent came from donors located in Canada.

GiveSendGo’s testimony confirmed that the convoy was not primarily foreign funded, and that the Freedom Convoy funds were as following:

CBC Said: Just 39% came from donors located in Canada, and 55.7% from the United States.

GiveSendGo: 60% originated in Canada and 37% were from USA.
