Canada Expected to Finish Review of COVID-19 Vaccine for Young Kids as U.S Authorizes Shots for Infants and Preschoolers

Regulators should reach a decision about whether to approve Canada’s first COVID-19 vaccine for infants and preschoolers in coming weeks, as the United States prepares to roll out tot-sized shots.

The advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention unanimously decided that coronavirus vaccines should be made available to children as young as 6 months, offering protection from hospitalizations, deaths and possible long-term complications that are still not clearly understood.

U.S. regulators on Friday authorized the first COVID-19 shots for infants and preschoolers, paving the way for vaccinations to begin next week.

The Public Health Agency says there “aren’t any specific numbers” to justify keeping the mandates in place. Why? Because it’s not science. It’s political science.

MP Michael Barrett said “The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) was unable to provide any evidence to support continuing Canada’s extreme federal vaccine mandates and other Covid-19 measures, are you able to provide us today with the metrics that are being used to sustain or to allow those restrictions to expire at the end of the month.”

MP Michael Barrett indicated that what he is looking for specifically is if the Government can provide what the goalposts are.

Several airline groups have called on the Liberals to immediately scrap the restrictions which they say are the cause of the issues, including the Canadian Travel & Tourism Roundtable and the CEO of Westjet.

When Will the Federal Government End These Vindictive Mandates? The Conservatives say that the NDP Liberal government has said it will discuss changing the vaccination requirements for federal workers, but they still haven’t heard of any discussions or changes. Conservatives say that many of those who cannot work because they are not fully vaccinated have no benefits and no income and that the NDP Liberal government is continuing to break the backs of working Canadians with vindictive federal mandates.
