Regulators should reach a decision about whether to approve Canada’s first COVID-19 vaccine for infants and preschoolers in coming weeks, as the United States prepares to roll out tot-sized shots.

The advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention unanimously decided that coronavirus vaccines should be made available to children as young as 6 months, offering protection from hospitalizations, deaths and possible long-term complications that are still not clearly understood.

U.S. regulators on Friday authorized the first COVID-19 shots for infants and preschoolers, paving the way for vaccinations to begin next week.

Will parents be eager to get their youngest vaccinated? By some estimates, three-quarters of all U.S. children have already been infected, and only about 30% of children aged 5 to 11 have gotten vaccinated since Pfizer’s shots opened to them last November.

Canada has yet to authorize a vaccine for its nearly two million children under five.

The ArriveCAN app was introduced during the pandemic to allow travellers to report their trips and vaccination status and COVID-19-related health information before arriving in Canada.

The calls to drop the app come a day after the federal government announced that it is easing a number of restrictions introduced during the pandemic. It did not announce it was eliminating the ArriveCAN app.

A group of mayors and businesses in communities along the Canada-U.S. border is calling on the federal government to end the ArriveCAN app, saying it is discouraging Americans from visiting and shopping in Canada.

Canadian and American border cities, urged that keeping the ArriveCAN app will have a “long lasting” impact on the country’s tourism sector.

What’s happening right now is Americans are showing up in the minivan with their family at the border with no knowledge of the ArriveCAN app. There’s a lineup of cars behind them. They can’t get into the country.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Transport Minister Omar Alghabra gave no indication that the federal government is considering scrapping the ArriveCan app for travellers.

“People tried to contact the CBSA to fix the issue that CBSA told them that they didn’t offer support relating to reentering Canada.  The arrive can app is increasingly unnecessary, and it’s hopelessly broken.”

“I understand how tired everyone is of the pandemic, of the different rules and restrictions that we have to go through but most people understand that this pandemic is not over,” Trudeau said,“Every step of the way, we will continue to be guided by the best science.”

Pierre is asked if he has spoken to Justin Trudeau about the amount of money that he’s making on these vaccines that he’s forcing on people, to which Pierre responds “I have not spoken to him about it.”

Pierre is asked if he has shares in vaccine companies to which Pierre’s wife responds that they do not.

Pierre is asked about the picture of him and Bill Gates, and is wondering what Pierre’s affiliation with Bill Gates is.  Pierre said that Bill Gates came to Parliament Hill in 2014, or 15 and that he shook his hand and had a picture with him.

Pierre is asked how he feels about the World Health Organization, and Pierre responds that he is against the World Economic Forum and that he has never been to the Davos conference that the World Economic Forum puts on.

Pierre is asked about the Pfizer documents to which Pierre responds that does does not know about the Pfizer documents, but that he believes in freedom for people to choose whether the vaccines or not.

Pierre is asked about vaccine companies being free of liability and Pierre responds that he thinks that every company should have liability in our court of law, and that judges should rule on those things.
